Job Summary: 

 The Deputy Court Clerk will perform a broad range of clerical duties related to court activities in compliance with state/local laws and city policies. The candidate will prepare, review, process and monitor cases filed in the Municipal Court, as well as enter data and maintain the status of court cases on a computer system.

Jub Duties:

  • Communicate and provide information regarding court policies and procedures to citizens, attorneys, prosecutors, judges and law enforcement officials by phone, in writing and in person.
  • Collect and record fines, fees and bonds in the Incode software system
  • Account for daily money received
  • Scan various documents in the Tyler Content Manager
  • Upload citations from the ticket writers and enter all manual citations, including DPS and CVE citations
  • Assist customers with various questions regarding fines, payment plans, request to file charges, indigent paperwork, court settings, warrant and bond amounts by phone and in person
  • Prepare and print all dockets weekly and post to the website
  • Process all correspondence mail
  • Prepare legal documents for Judge's signature
  • Utilize Swift 911 System to notify defendants of court hearings, warrant notices, warrant roundup, delinquent payments, reminders, courtesy notices, and any past due notices to assist in our in house collection processes.
  • Enter and release driver's license from the Omnibase Failure to Appear Program
  • Assist the collection agency with any questions or requests
  • Mail failure to appear and cash bond forfeiture letters weekly
  • Process all paperwork received from the jail daily
  • Process, post and update the website with warrants on a weekly basis

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of general of office, clerical or customer service experience
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Previous cash handling, posting and reconciliation experience, preferred
  • Must obtain Level I Municipal Court Clerk Certification within 12 months of date of hire and maintain ongoing requirements for Level I
  • Must obtain TLETS certification within 12 months of date of hire.
